Theme: From Innovation to Impact: Upscaling Climate-Smart Hybrid Rice for Sustainable Agriculture
As the first major international gathering on hybrid rice since the International Rice Congress (IRC) 2023, IHRS 2026 will serve as a key platform to advance discussions on hybrid rice’s role in climate resilience, sustainable production, and global food security. The symposium will bring together over 1,000 global experts, researchers, policymakers, and private sector leaders to share innovations and field experiences in hybrid rice breeding, seed systems, and adoption.
Held in collaboration with leading national rice research institutions, IHRS 2026 continues a strong legacy of knowledge exchange and partnership, following previous editions in Changsha (1986, 2008), Manila (1994, 2019, and 2023), Hyderabad (1996, 2012), Hanoi (2003), and Yogyakarta (2018).
